Frank Baeten recently started as the team lead Packaging Design at our plant in Loenen. “Smart Packaging Solutions offered me a wonderful new challenge. A melting pot of innovation, creativity and sustainability.”

“At Smart Packaging Solutions, I am getting the opportunity to expand my field of expertise. I have 32 years of experience as a packaging designer, but here I am working with a different type of cardboard for another market, and we make a different product: often transport packaging from solid board. Above all, for the first time I am working for a company that manufactures its own board.”

“My drive comes from finding the best solution for the customer. I look for ways to achieve the desired result at as competitive as possible a price. That can be achieved through designing a completely new packaging, but equally through collaborating on product optimisations. How can we improve existing packaging or reduce costs? For example: can a 4-point box with a gram weight of 800 also be made with 700 gram board while retaining the required quality? Less material translates into lower costs and a more sustainable solution. I consider proactive collaboration on improvements to be an important part of my work.”
